Today the Illinois legislature passed an extension of ADW to 2017.

It hasn’t been signed by Governor Quinn yet, but Governor Quinn has stated that if the bill were passed, he planned to sign it.  It’s absurd that it took as long as it did, that it wasn’t addressed earlier, but I’m happy and relieved that there will be a full season of racing in Illinois this year.

The Hawthorne meet will start as planned on February 21 — and now I can allow myself to be truly excited about that!
