I know I have already gone into detail once about how much I love Mischief N Mayhem. This past Saturday she raced for the third time this meet, and I finally got to see her in person. Unfortunately, she was a fading eighth; she is having a tough meet this fall. However, she is still as gorgeous as ever, and seeing her again (even covered in dirt!) always makes my heart skip a beat.

I hope she finds her stride again soon…either on the track, or as a broodmare, as she does turn six on Thursday. I don’t know her connections personally, so I have no idea what her plans are. As a fan, whenever she does retire, there is a huge part of me that hopes she does go to the breeding shed. It would be such a thrill to see her babies on the track in a few years, and not just becuase she herself is a favourite of mine. She is also closely related to some crack Illinois-breds: her dam, Icy Mocha, is half to the ageless River Bear as well as stakes winner (and Fairmount Park stakes namesake, back when Fairmount Park had stakes races…) Lady Riss.
But, for now? I am glad I got to see her on Saturday, and glad I got a few pictures that were not merely blurs.
