The Derby draws ever closer, and all but two Derby preps are in the books.
There has been a little moving around on the WirePlayers Derby Dozen. Far From Over, the poll’s previous darling, dropped off the Derby trail with an injury. Two Bafferts and a Pletcher (though not my personal favourite among the Toddster Brigade…) checked in a clear top three this time around.
My own ballot has changed a bit, too. Most notably, I have a new #1. Though I have faith that Keen Ice will make a huge impression should he get into the starting gate the first Saturday in May, I am unsure if 22 points will be enough. That, in addition to Dortmund continuing his monstrous ways out west, led to me swapping my #1 and my #2 this time around.
Be sure to read the latest WirePlayers Derby Dozen. If you are curious about how Paul Mazur or I voted (or just what commentary we made about the horses), both of our ballots are live at Picks and Ponderings as well.
Let me know in the comments if you think I am right…or far off the mark.
