Last weekend at Hawthorne, veteran rider Emanuel Cosme won his 1,000th race. He has spent the majority of his career riding on the Illinois circuit, and is again riding at Hawthorne and Fairmount this spring.

I also dive into three of the races in which he will be running over Wednesday and Friday.
