The Hawthorne meet draws to a close this weekend.

As befits the end of the meet, Chicago Railbird highlights the meet leaders.  The weekday edition focuses on someone I covered shortly ago: leading rider Vicente Gudiel.  He won his first career race aboard Lewis Cielo in December, and he returns to Lewis Cielo for a contentious grassy allowance on Friday.
