Chicago Railbird: 6.28.15

Today’s sixth race at Arlington features the return of graded stakes Illinois-bred Recount.  He may well be the class of the field, but the race will be no cake walk for him.  It will be the Limehouse gelding’s first try against older, and the race drew a full field of solid allowance to state-bred stake calibre Illinois-breds.

Head on over to ShapperDaCapper, read the latest Chicago Railbird, and see who I think can beat Recount!

Edit:  Scratches are out.  Unfortunately, both Recount and Armando’s Star are gone.  This makes things a lot easier on the front end for Goesse — Epic Phelps is the only one left who may try to go, but likely is not fast enough to do so.  Goesse has become a very clear speed of the speed; he inherits top selection status here, given the scratch of his two credible threats.  If he tires out, I stand behind Sancerre and Reigning Catfish as the others to look at, as well as Plunder as an undersides type.
