Though the Arlington Sprint was not renewed this year, this Thursday’s 7th race at Arlington drew a stakes-quality field, by far the classiest turf dash of the meet. The field features the winner of the last three Arlington Sprints, Saint Leon, as well as a host of other stakes-level competition: Hogy, Bet Seattle, Mongol Bull, Mongolian Saturday.
The weather in Chicago has been wet, leaving turf on Thursday as a possibly touch-and-go proposition. Thus, I not only look at the race from a turf perspective, but also highlight the standouts should the race be moved to the main track.
