Fall at Parx means big purses, but no day at Parx features bigger purses or bigger names than this Saturday: a day headlined by the Pennsylvania Derby (GII) and the Cotillion Stakes (GI).

As with last year, Picks and Ponderings is there with a look at Pennsylvania’s biggest race day.  I preview three of the races: the Pennsylvania Derby (GII) for three-year-old dirt routers, the Bayern Stakes for older dirt routers, and the Alphabet Soup Handicap for Pennsylvania-bred turf routers.  Paul Mazur looks at the Cotillion Stakes (GI) for three-year-old fillies, as well as the Gallant Bob Stakes (GIII) for sophomore dirt sprinters.
