Picks and Ponderings: 2015 Jockey Club Gold Cup Preview

Though most of the space at Picks and Ponderings this weekend will be devoted to Fall Stars at Keeneland, I did turn my eyes to Belmont for the final Win and You’re In for the Breeders’ Cup Classic: the Jockey Club Gold Cup (GI).

The field contains five of the Usual Suspects for the New York handicap division: plus one Illinois-bred invader.  Looks To Spare, a 74/1 longshot winner in the listed West Virginia Governor’s Stakes last out at Mountaineer, continues his meteoric rise from $5,000 claimers on the Chicago circuit.  This time, he tries graded stakes for the first time…against heavyweights like Tonalist, Wicked Strong, Effinex, Constitution, and Coach Inge.

How does he rate?

Head on over to Picks and Ponderings, and get ready for the Jockey Club Gold Cup!
