This year, the Hawthorne Derby (GIII) returns!  It drew a competitive field of twelve, plus an also-eligible entrant, to go a mile and an eighth on the grass.  There are a lot of solid horses and no head-and-withers standouts, and should therefore be a fantastic betting race.
