Maybe you read Blinkers Off because you follow Curlin babies. Maybe it’s because you follow Illinois racing. Maybe you just love goofy horse names as much as I do.
If you fall into any of these categories, let me introduce you to Larrymoeandcurlin. He could be yours!
Larrymoeandcurlin (Sally Bowles, by London News) raced at six tracks last year, including Arlington. He broke his maiden in December 2014, in his eleventh career start, in a six-furlong dirt sprint over at Mahoning Valley. This year, he ran at Fairmount Park through the spring and summer, fourteen times in all. He won there once, in another dirt sprint, and hit the board four more times.
It’s interesting that he did his best racing going short. Not only was his sire long-winded, but Larrymoeandcurlin is an older half-brother of talented sophomore turf filly Consumer Credit (More Than Ready). She is a Grade III winner at a mile on grass, and Grade I placed at a mile and a quarter.
Still, Larrymoeandcurlin did what he could. He never quite reached the rarefied air of his sire or even his sister, but he is cute, bay, and he tried.
Now, Larrymoeandcurlin is ready for another life — off the racetrack. He has been listed at CANTER Illinois since October, but is still looking for his forever home. So, if you are looking for a horse, and you want either a Curlin baby, a horse who has raced in Illinois, or a horse with a really fun name…here’s your chance.
And, if you read this and end up taking him home? I’d love to see a picture.
