At this point in the year, Chicago is typically handicapping a speed-loving winter dirt track at 35th and Cicero.
This year is a little different. For the first time ever, we are a week into December at Hawthorne, and the card features turf racing.
Wednesday’s card at Hawthorne features a pair of turf miles: one for $15,000 N2L types, and one for N1X allowance-optional company. They both drew healthy-sized fields, despite how many grass horses have left for warmer climes.
Head on over to ShapperDaCapper, read the latest Chicago Railbird, and see my take on both of Wednesday’s turf races!
