Over at Picks and Ponderings, Paul Mazur and I tackle the final stakes race of the season at Hawthorne: the Jim Edgar Illinois Futurity.

The race drew a field of seven Illinois-bred juveniles: a pair of familiar stakes horses, another pair familiar from allowance company, and three darker horses (including a first-time starter).  With serious questions surrounding the entire field, this race gave us a lot to talk about.
