This Saturday, the winter meet opens up at Santa Anita.  The card features a four-pack of stakes races.  They include a pair of Grade I seven-furlong dirt sprints, the Malibu and the La Brea, supported by the Mathis Brothers Mile (GII) and the Daytona Stakes (GIII).  Three of the four races drew double-digit field sizes…and what the Malibu lacks in field size, it has in star power, with Breeders’ Cup Sprint champion Runhappy in the field.
