Hawthorne took the week off for Christmas, but racing is back in action on Saturday with a nine-race card.

Over at ShapperDaCapper, in the latest Chicago Railbird, I do a deep dive into the 2nd race on the Hawthorne card.  It is a complex race, with a lot of interesting angles and contenders…and a strong opinion.

At Picks and Ponderings, I tackle the entire card.  The card is particularly fun for anyone who enjoys maiden races.  Four of the nine races are maiden events, including three for the juvenile set.
