Picks and Ponderings: Robert B. Lewis and Las Virgenes Stakes Preview

Oaklawn is not the only track with an three-year-old prep this weekend.

Saturday’s stakes-laden Santa Anita card includes a pair of prep races for the three-year-old set, the Robert B. Lewis (GIII) for open company and the Las Virgenes (GII) for fillies.  Each race drew a field of seven to contend for the purse and the points.

The Las Virgenes also features the return of last year’s champion two-year-old filly, Songbird.  She looked like something special last year, and Saturday we find out if she can carry that form and momentum into her sophomore season.

Head over to Picks and Ponderings, read my preview of Saturday’s three-year-old preps at Santa Anita, and let me know in the comments what you think!
