Friday’s sixth race at Hawthorne is an intriguing allowance-optional for fillies and mares, going five and a half furlongs on the dirt.
I see a beatable favourite…and a strong alternative, a horse I really like going short who comes in here second off the layoff.
Though, unfortunately, my interesting bomb (Crissy Field) was a race-day vet scratch. For anyone looking for another price horse to play in their exotics, consider Partay. She is one of two uncoupled horses from the Carlos Silva barn. She showed improvement last out at Fair Grounds, going first time Lasix, and has a win and a second in her two tries in main-track dashes. Partay is three, and this is her first try against older, so demand a price. But, anything close to her 15/1 morning line odds makes her interesting.
