Racing — including turf racing — returns today at Hawthorne.  And, over at Chicago Railbird, I have a look at today’s entire card!

The card features eight races.  It has a pair of maidens, a wide open one-other-than allowance on the grass (in which I like a big price!), and a super-salty turf sprint to end the day.

Today’s Hawthorne scratches are up, and one of them is key.  Third choice Peppermint Ice is out of the 6th.  This is fantastic news for top selection Away She Glows, however.  Peppermint Ice was Away She Glows’s most likely contention on the front end, if she was going to get any at all.  Without that one in the field, Away She Glows looks even better set to walk the dog; watch for her to blow up the tote.
