Picks and Ponderings: Arlington Matron and Arlington Classic Recap

Saturday afternoon at Arlington featured a pair of graded stakes races, the Arlington Matron (GIII) and the Arlington Classic (GIII).

One featured sophomores, one older.  One went on the grass, the other on the main.  In one, a favourite obliged; in the other, not so much.  But, both had the most enjoyable thing in common: a tight, contentious ending.
