This week, Chicago Railbird takes a dive into the Purple Violet Stakes at Arlington Park!

The race drew a field of ten Illinois-bred sophomore fillies, and it will be an excellent betting race.  It is wide open: a few are proven against similar company, but others are later bloomers who may be primed to take a step forward against these state-bred stakes horses.

Get to know these horses, keep an eye on how the track is playing (something I’ll be noting on the Picks and Ponderings Twitter feed), and get ready for some price horses.
