Three-year-old Illinois-bred fillies took the spotlight today in the Purple Violet Stakes.

It was a rainy first half of the card, but the sun finally began to shine as nine three-year-old fillies from the Land of Lincoln came out for the race.  Though the field looked contentious going in…one filly looked a winner almost every step of the way.
