The biggest weekend of Belmont Park’s year is nigh. Friday’s stakes are drawn — and one of them, the New York Stakes (GII), could give a sneak peek at some horses we could see at Arlington Park this summer.
The New York drew a field of just seven — but the field exudes class, and every single filly and mare in the field has been nominated to the Beverly D. With the New York being in a similar distance category as the Beverly D, and early enough in the season that they can run one more prep before it, it would make perfect sense to see a few of these fillies on our local grass come August.
Head over to Picks and Ponderings, read my preview of the New York Stakes, and get ready for a sneak peek at the filly and mare turf route division!
