This weekend’s card at Arlington features a four-pack of graded stakes, all of which are local preps for Arlington Million Day.

In the latest Chicago Railbird, I preview a pair of them.  The Modesty Handicap, a local prep for the Beverly D, drew a compact yet solid field of fillies and mares.  It features my strongest top-pick opinion of the weekend’s local stakes races.  The American Derby, the local prep for the Secretariat Stakes, features my trip-notes horse from the Arlington Classic a few weeks ago…and an interesting long shot at 30/1 on the morning line.
