I do not always write up $5,000 beaten claimers over at Picks and Ponderings, but when I do, I have a good reason for it.

The superfecta pool for Thursday’s Hawthorne 1st features a carryover of $15,659, and the whole pool pays if any ticket hits the wager.  So, even if you do not typically play superfectas, it’s worth putting together a ticket and taking your shot.
