ChicagoNow (the blog network that hosts Picks and Ponderings) has long done a thing called “Blogapalooz-hour”: one topic, one hour, one blog post. I’ve always been curious to do it, but never had the guts. I was never sure I would be able to write something about a random topic that both pertained to horse racing and did not feel forced to be on topic.
For some reason, I got it in my head this month that I Would Do Tonight’s Blogapalooz-hour.
The prompt asked you to write “about something you believed as a child or in your youth that turned out not to be true.” Fortunately, I had one horse racing-related misconception from my youth that haunts me, and will continue to haunt me for the rest of my life. So, I wrote about it.
