This Saturday at Hawthorne, the juvenile colts and geldings get their chance to shine in the Jim Edgar Illinois Futurity.
Though the field is short — just six — there is no shortage of intrigue. There’s the proven Devileye, the only two-time winner in the group. Awesome Asher, who has raced just once, won impressively and hails from a barn who has won a few editions of this race. Shakurr and Prairie Chief also bring maiden victories into the Jim Edgar, while Gentleman Richie and All Strikes seek to get both their diploma and their first black type in one fell swoop.
