For Episode 139 of Chicago Race of the Day, we look to Thursday’s opener. There may not be any stakes races this summer at Arlington, but don’t tell the horses in this field that: it’s a turf route allowance field that looks a whole lot like stakes races here have over the last few years. Not only is the field as classy as you’ll see all meet, but it also sets up interestingly both from a pace perspective and given the fact that several of the runners still have to answer the question of turf.
