Thoroughbred horse racing in Illinois gets back underway on Tuesday, March 3. It’s not quite in Chicago, since Hawthorne is doing harness racing and casino construction through the spring and summer. But, with several Chicago barns running at Fairmount Park this spring, and so many Fairmount barns having run more horses in Chicago in recent years, Chicago Race of the Day will cover the Fairmount spring meet as if it is a Chicago meet — so, one race every live day at Fairmount until racing moves north again.
